People and events have triggered my emotions which expressed themselves in poetic form, not in any regular formal tradition more as an expression of ideas or feelings. The pattern of the poems came from the sound of the words in my mind not from any formal poetic arrangement. Ged

True Love

Occasionally memories of distant days pop into the present. Wearing my wellington boots the other day took me back to rosy thoughts and my favourite wellies.  

I love my wellies
Even though they’re cold in winter
     And hot in summer

I love my wellies
     Because they’re good in puddles
Muddy fields
     And long wet grass

I love my wellies
     Even though they rub my heels
Chaff my toes
     And curl down my socks

I do love my wellies!
