Whitehaven Sunset

Sometimes I don't appreciate what is right under my nose but there are special moments which bring me closer to my reality.

Oh! What a sight!
A rose-crested horizon painting the skyline
In turbulent cloud,
Burning Whitehaven’s rooftops into
Stark silhouettes,
Parting our land from heaven’s expanse.
I feel the dying day’s warm heart
Slipping from today
Into tomorrow’s blue,
Painting my earth as through rose tinted glasses.
