People and events have triggered my emotions which expressed themselves in poetic form, not in any regular formal tradition more as an expression of ideas or feelings. The pattern of the poems came from the sound of the words in my mind not from any formal poetic arrangement. Ged

Desire

Throughout the night and early in the morning the woods are the domain of nature, a quiet sacred place.  Walking in the woods beside Loweswater brought these thoughts to mind.

The golden pheasant struts,
      Pecking the air impatiently
While nearby the bark of the dog fox echoes
Through the shadowed copse
      Freezing all movement,
Arresting breath.

High above the silhouette of
Treetops, the wise moon
Looks down
And the stillness listens,
 And the searching breeze listens,
  And the broken heart listens,
Searching, searching for the
Lost love hiding in the undergrowth
      Wrapped in frosted air.

Ah! Elusive love
      Cries the dog fox,
Where do you hide?
Come, come and join me,
      Walk by my side.

  2. Yes, I sometimes post too quickly. I should let my ideas simmer and mature a little, then re-edit.
Poignant is one of my favourite words.

  3. Well the good thing about blogging is that you can play with things and change them- the worst thing is when a poem is in a book and you look back and see you could have made it better. A poem is never finished, but you have to stop somewhere!
